I was driving through Urbana a couple of weeks ago and walking down a subdivison street were 4 turkeys. I followed them around for a while and got a shot of this guy standing on a fence.
I can't believe this!! A couple of years ago my hunsband and I went to Champaign to eat out and trafic had come to a halt on a main highway near campus. The reason...four turkeys were crossing the road! I wonder if they could have been the same ones you saw?
